A Unique Predator Hunt
Gray wolves, often gray but also seen in buff, white, and black, were once native to Montana but were hunted and trapped out by the 1930s. By 1973, they were listed as an endangered species. In the 1980s, re-introduction plans were being discussed, but meanwhile, wolves naturally re-colonized northern Montana as Canadian packs dispersed south through Glacier National Park. A re-introduction program in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and central Idaho took place in 1995. Our Bitterroot National Forest is centrally located to these three areas, and now we have a wolf population that is not only de-listed but fair game again for harvesting!
Hunt with Crazy Creek Outfitters, and we can help you target wolves specifically, or you might just add a wolf tag to your other hunt. Wolf tags are inexpensive and can be purchased over the counter. Our experienced guides know the best locations and techniques to track and hunt these elusive predators, providing you with an exciting and successful wolf hunting experience.
